We recently established a forum with representatives from of Hackney’s special schools present, and we will be inviting colleagues with a particular interest in SEND music-making from mainstream schools (both primary and secondary) to join the group in the future. HMS have many network partners with a particular remit to support SEND work, such as Sound Connections, Sounds of Intent and the Hackney Empire, and colleagues from these organisations also join us to support the planning and discussion. Topics covered in these sessions might include:
- Planning performances for SEND pupils to take part in
- Planning opportunities for SEND pupils to perform / work alongside mainstream pupils
- Opportunities for SEND pupils to watch performances
- The Sounds of Intent Framework
- Resource Sharing
- Best Practice Sharing
- Case Studies
- Music Technology
- Projects and Opportunities
