HBYO perform alongside the Brighton Youth Orchestra in a side by side performance of the BBC Ten Pieces at
All Saints Church in Hove as part of the Brighton Festival.

Hackney Speaker’s Charity Concert
Two of the Mayor of Hackney’s music scholars performed at the Hackney Speaker’s Charity Concert at St John of Hackney, Saturday 18th April. The scholars, both pianists, are both recipients of Jules Pipe’s prestigious individual pupil award.

Hackney Pupil opens Boris Johnson’s Annual Carol Service at Southwark Cathedral
A Year 8 pupil from Our Lady’s Convent school has been invited to sing the opening, solo verse of Once in Royal David’s City at the Mayor of London’s Annual Carol Service at Southwark Cathedral. Shania Charles is a Mayor’s Music Scholar, she plays both the oboe and the violin, and as well as being a fantastic singer is also long-standing member of the Hackney Training Orchestra.
